Covid Vaccines

Covid Vaccines Are Now Available

We now have the 2025 Moderna Covid vaccine for children 11 years and under.

This year, children under 5 years can only receive the Moderna Covid vaccine. Moderna uses the same dose for all children under 12 years. To minimize errors and to keep things simpler, we are only offering the Moderna Covid vaccine this year.  If your child has received the Pfizer vaccine in the past, it is now okay to mix and match with the Moderna vaccine.  Because of the recent changes in the Covid vaccine recommendations by the CDC, we require parents to sign a financial waiver that says that if their insurance company doesn't cover the vaccine that the parent is financially responsible for the vaccine. We will still bill your insurance company for the vaccine. So far, we have not had any insurance companies not pay for it. At this time, we are not offering the Covid vaccine for those patients who are 12 years and older as they can get it at a pharmacy. At this time, no prescriptions are needed to get the Covid vaccine in California.

We follow the AAP Covid-19 vaccine recommendations:

Who SHOULD receive the COVID vaccine?

  •  All children age 6 months through age 23 months, since they are at high risk for severe COVID and hospitalization.
  • Children and teens age 2 years through 18 years with these risk factors:
  • Health conditions that increase their risk of severe COVID
  • Living in long-term care facilities or other group settings
  • Never having been vaccinated against COVID
  • Having household contacts who are at high risk for severe COVID

Who CAN receive the COVID vaccine?

  • Children age 2 through 18 years without risk factors can get a single dose of the updated COVID vaccine.
