  • Lactation Consultation

Breastfeeding provides essential nutrition for infants birth to one year and older. As with learning anything new, most breastfeeding mothers and babies (and dads too!) need some instruction and support during this learning period. At this time we don't have in office lactation consultants. We do have a many lactation consultants that we refer to. Please don't hesitate to ask for a referral!

  • Newborn Care

Newborn care begins from the moment your baby arrives.  Our pediatricians understand the challenges of taking care of a newborn. They also provide the same gentle care they would use for treating their family.

When you go to the hospital for your baby's birth, just tell the delivery team the name of your chosen pediatrician and, if you are delivering at Cedars Sinai, our rounding doctor of the day  will visit you and your newborn in the hospital. If you are delivering at another hospital, a pediatrician on staff at their facility will see your baby and forward the medical records to us when you are discharged. In either case, call our office from the hospital (when you may have a quiet moment!) to schedule your newborn's first visit in our office.

We will see you frequently in the first few weeks to monitor your baby's feeding, your baby's jaundice and answer the myriad of questions that you will have.   The first few weeks can sometimes be overwhelming.  Breathe!   Take a shower every day.   Get outside every day even if it's for a few minutes.   Your world has been turned upside down.    We are part of your village and your inner circle right now.  We are here  to help guide you in this exciting and exhausting time!

  • Referral Information

Children may experience a range of medical conditions that could benefit from the expertise of a pediatric specialist in a particular field.   We have an extensive network of specialists in all areas that we refer to.   If you would like your child to see a specialist, please schedule a visit with us (telemedicine sometimes is adequate but other times we will need to see your child in person) so that we can determine the best specialist for your child to see.  There are many conditions that we can manage ourselves as well.

  • Sports Physicals

Regular physicals are an important part of preventative pediatric care. At your child's annual physical we will evaluate their health and fitness, and determine whether or not they are prepared for sports or school activities.  We will fill out a school or sports form if we have done a check-up within the last year.   Some schools are very specific about the dates that a physical exam needs to be done within.   If it is too soon for your child's annual physical we will charge a $80 fee for the visit as it is not covered by insurance.
